September 18th at 10:00 pm EDT It starts the series of Magical events. The Full Moon at this time ushers in the Fall Equinox. Full Moon ceremony: casting your circle with white sage and or placing salt around the perimeter. the Sun begins its descent. make cakes to eat. Use a challis for mead or cider with spices. make mine the latter. We connect to the Divine Goddess Luna and honor our Harvest of our hard work.
Poem by Mary Oliver
This is the time when the earth light dies.
Wild Geese, You do not have to be Good!
You do not have to walk on your knees,
You only have to let your soft animal of your body Love what it Loves.
This Moon is the Moon of the Birds. they make their migration south and say goodbye to us for now who remain in the North's harsh winters chill!
Summer has gone, Autumn has come,
Winter comes too soon. Skies seem clearer, stars seem nearer, under a harvest Moon. ~
( Waldorf Kindergarten Song)
The moon she stops us in our tracks. and gives pause to our smallness in the face of the Giant Celestial body the Goddess Luna governs us day and night. She connects us with the Divine, our heavenly Mother. We give thanks to the four directions. The Sun God makes his descent, into the arms of the Goddess he dies only to be reborn in the eternal bliss.
It is time to celebrate our successes , to thank ourselves and others who have helped take part in the balance.
